- 3 sprigs fresh thyme
- 6 fresh sage leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation Instructions
- Prep the patties—Divide sausage into 4 pieces and shape into round patties.
- Sear the sausage—Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat, tilting skillet to coat evenly. Add sausage patties and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes or until nicely browned on the underside.
- Finish and serve—Flip sausage patties. Add sage leaves and fresh thyme to skillet and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes or until patties reach an internal temperature of 160°F. Season with salt and pepper to taste, garnish with the sage leaves and fresh thyme, and serve.
Tips
Prefer Poultry?
Our recipe works great with chicken or turkey sausage, too! Try adding 1/2 cup diced apples for extra moisture and a blend of spices to boost flavor.
Don't Overdo It
Sausage patties can go from moist, delicious morsels to dried-out hockey pucks in mere minutes.
